jackdicker
Im looking to subscribe to some sort of visuals magazine, i live in the UK. Any suggestions?
matthewdeluca
You could look into 3D World Magazine. They cover everything from arch-viz, VFX, animation, games, etc. It's worth looking into.
jackdicker
Excellent, Ill check it out now!
Stephen Thomas
3d World is good, wasn't enough arch viz stuff in there for me to keep my subscription going though. Excellent magazine however and 3d Artist is another good one.
jackdicker
yes i see its very popular, however im not really into my 3d artistry stuff, mainly just looking for something that has arch viz stuff inside!
matthewdeluca
These aren't magazines but Clog: Rendering or Alex Roman's The Third & The Seventh: From Bits To The Lens book that is available for pre-order are other options.
cg_Butler
I'd buy that book if the shipping cost wasn't half the price on top of the product! It's probably worth it to be honest but makes the book itself expensive.....
jackdicker
ye I agree, it shouldnt be difficult to find some reading material here in the UK?
notamondayfan
The clog rendering book is ok, but It's more about industry trends, uses and thought provoking rather than a how-to or hints and tips book. What are you looking for exactly, tutorials, inspiration, industry news? Dean
jackdicker
well I have my own business so I think a mix of all three would be beneficial. I know there are 3d artist mags and books out there but I cant bring myself to spend that much when Im only really ideally interested in arch viz topics etc.
notamondayfan
I personally find that arch vis is crossing more and more with vfx and games industry everyday, so I find it useful to look outside of the box and see what other techniques are being used. I know a "how to build a mech fighter" isn't arch vis, but it's surprising how many tips, tricks and work-flow can be learned from things like this. Nic H
can you imagine how boring your work would be if your only reference was other arch vis work? good way to become mediocre IMO
