Jason Matthews
Hey everyone. I am doing a scene with a heavily populated pool deck. The stills will be taken medium to long distance, not too close. Besides post production, does anyone know of any decent 3D people in bathing suits? The only ones I have really found that are not going to cost an arm and a leg are from ProViz3D. Thanks,
Scott Schroeder
VizPeople has a good pool pack that includes both sunlit and indoor people. The only issue when them is that most of the dudes are in speedos and some of the ladies are quite chesty to the point of almost being distracting. Tommy L
I'd handle it in post if I were you. 3d people are ok, but without clothes they are going to look pretty wierd. Ive not seen a good 3d people pool shot, so I think you'd be breaking new ground if you pulled it off. I think Dosch has a 2d pool people collection. I'd try and design the view around the 2d people, ie, keep it eye level, but I know its often the client that makes that call.
Jason Matthews
Thanks guys. Yea they want some odd perspectives, only one being at eye level. The others are more aerial shots. I was hoping not to have to do a whole lot of scale figures, but it looks like that is the route I am going. Thanks for the recommendations! Non-eye level PS people in pool attire.... good luck. You may have to risk the sex offenders register and go to a pool with a camera.
Chris MacDonald
Try gobotree.com, using the filters you can specify what eye level you want the pictures to be from, and lighting situations etc. Very handy.
John Dollus
Since you are in Jacksonville and on a budget, post an open call for models on craigslist and shoot your own. you should get an interesting response. seriously though, posting an open call is something to consider. Just make sure you have a proper model release form and cover your bases otherwise. Out of 100 responses, you may get 8-10 that will work.

I tried using modelmayhem.com for getting models and they were unreliable. They always cancel at the last minute. And CL is a rung lower on the ladder. Also bare in mind this is also a 'swimwear' shoot, that commands a bigger fee for the model. If you need t shoot people for an image, talk to the client and try and get a budget for it, dont try and do it on the cheap out of your fee. John Dollus
I've had success with it but it was in Florida where swimsuit/spawear shoots are pretty commonplace requests.
