philvanderloo
I just downloaded some free tree files from xfrog and am wondering- a. how do I bring these .rar files into my scene? and b. How do I populate my plant library with these files, (or can I?) Thank You
Bruce Hart
Hi Phil - rar files are compressed files/folder structures that you need to extract (like Zip files). Google WinRAR to download the utility to extract
philvanderloo
Thanks Bruce. I just extracted 1 tree file and ended up with 21 files?? I was told I could just drag and drop these xfrog trees into my scene. I don't have a clue what to do with these 21 files. And the xfrog support is extremely vague. Dave Buckley
In those 21 files - do you have a .max file? If so then drag and drop that into your scene. The 21 files will include textures for the tree, preview renders, and the tree model itself in various file formats for use in different applications. My guess at a minimum us that you'll have a .obj file that you can drag and drop but then you'll still need to re path the textures. Nothing is ever as simple as drag and drop. Worst case scenario is that the only 3d model file you'll have will be one you need to open in XFrog 3.5 and export yourself. Where did you download it from? Autodesk Seek?
