opang
I know this is not quite architectural, not to say photorealistic... but just wanted to share with you an old rendering I did when I was still a student in 1999. I guess I was still using max 2.0 and I didn't know what GI/radiosity was at that time. But that was the happiest time in my "rendering career". I rendered just for fun, not for jobs, not for those stupid clients, not for $$$. I still remember making that little "open" sign at the door in photoshop myself. Those were the days... William Alexander
Wet Roads? To each his own, hehehehe. Great Job, looks just like "Mel's Dinner" in Pigeon Forge Tennesee USA. Went there to pick up carry out, right after the severe thunder storm. You captured the moment for me!!! Cheers WDA
opang
Thanks STRAT and WDA! I saw Mel's Diner in a book about diners too. Yeah, I dunno why diners give me a very special warm feeling although I live in hongkong and there are no diners here. If only I could have a real rendering job about diners, I'll do it free of charge
William Alexander
opang, Have you checked out Ted Boardmans Site. He is really into Old Diners and has quite a number of Pictures http://www.tbmax.com/ I really miss the 'diner' here locally. They tore it down to put up a K-Mart. Now I wish I had taken photos. Cheers WDA
opang
Hah, so that's why Ted Boardman used the interior of a diner as a tutorial in his book. His website can't be accessed at this moment, really look forward to it. wda, you can have a look on some of the diner books, maybe they'll have the one you most miss!
