stayinwonderland
Every few months I'll put out this request. It's the only simple roof tiling plug-in I know of and it SUCKS!!! I hate every second of using it, it's so unpredictable. For example, if you make your roof and add the 'sidings' modifier, it seems to randomly decide which directions the tiles go in and you can't change this, you just have to make your roof from scratch in another viewport. Then there's no guarantee that it won't warp your mesh. So any alternatives out there? Also, it's pretty much unsupported.
Stephen Thomas
I've used A-tiles plugin before. http://www.avizstudio.com/tools/atiles/
scostumatu
i have both and i actually like batzal - make a custom roof tile should you need to. Its quiet easy to do. Let me know if you have troubles with custom tiles. I purchased a tiles not long ago but i find it quiet confusing and not so user friendly. I wish they would do specific tutorials on arch viz (such as using it for floorboards, deckings, etc etc - you know, the usual arch viz stuff)

I would like Batzal if you could change the orientation of tiles AND if it never warped the mesh/shape it's based on. Custom tiles aren't necessary really, I'm fine with the default rectangle ones. Francisco Penaloza
not really a modeler script but I used this Digital-X script for tile roof and work very well. I does use displacement maps but it is very well implemented, after render you can't tell the difference. Link Here
