Looking for a certain brick type

Hi all, i'm looking for a certain type of brick texture, and CGtextures doesn't have this type.

I tried to modify it in Photoshop, add some dark and white spots, but still doesn't look to attractive. If someone has a texture resembling my example, i'd be ever so grateful! Or point me in the right direction hehe.

As always, much obliged.

I might also add that MightyTilesPro is now in beta, so it's free. It's already third reinstallation of the same plugin originally called Brix :- D Seems incredibily powerful, even more so now, hopefully won't end up as abandonware for third time. But it will create what you want, if you have some time to play around.

Here some ready to use textures from PetersenTegl, dannish brick maker (some are very modern and extremely attractive, but they cover everything)

Yeah, i'm not really a fan of Mighty tiles, I have been experimenting with the floor generator + multitexture plugin. So far it has been a splendid combo for bricks. although never hurts to try again.

You could try creating one using Acme Brick. It's rather useful.

Downloading now! Seems like a very usefull tool.

Thanks for the replies!

If you are in a hurry and do not need the geometry of the bricks, perhaps you should check out bercon tile. With the bercon tile you can decide your brick size and get the multitexture to apply the textures randomly (or not so randomly) over the surface. Might be a faster solution than creating and flipping floors with the floor generator, but then you are stuck with bump/displacement to fake the geometry of the bricks, so perhaps not so ideal for up close shots.

FloorGen+Multitexture will definitely not give you the mortar option, displacement possiblity and all the nifty details. There is also easier alternative at VizPark as well, they're former partners from what it seems. I am slightly intimidated by MightyTiles robustness as well.

Check the link I added bit later, to Peterson, maybe there is something ?

Absolutely opposite, no geometry you will create will come even close to natural imperfection produced by dedicated displacement map. It's not "fake", the eventual geometry will be much superior for close-up. It's not even comparable, it's night and day. It was pretty bad idea to use floorgen.

It's worth checking some late Peter Guthrie's work, he uses MightyTiles extensively and you can see all the positives it brings, ie. no tiling, mortar detail, true surface displacement (from dedicated BW masks, not just BW version of diffuse)

Alot of options, Jurai thanks for the link, can't use them for this project, but those are some really nice tiles textures to use in the future.

Lol at your comment from MightyTiles :D

Nicolai; Bercontile seems kinda " sloppy ", something i'l need to check out later, when I have some extra time.

Currently I went back to the first idea: Photoshop, I found a texture which lends itself pretty good for what I need. I'l upload the textures when finished, might be useful for someone else as well.

I am big fan of creating bricks...but I have no clients who wants to use brick facade :- ) They're mostly popular nowadays just in Denmark, Netherlands and Sweden. I would love to do house with them.

Good luck then :- ) Dirty PS is often the best, as long as you don't get migraine.
