RyderSK
Chosing by DPI is pretty weird choice, nonetheless, I own this exact one because of one, single, reason. It's the cheapest one there is ;- ) Which is what I wanted, granted that I print twice a year, but when I do, I wanted the A3+ format (border to border!) which is pretty impressive. It has many other benefits, it's incredibly small, and looks damn nice when closed. The print quality is excellent, don't get confused by the price, it lacks speed, holding lot of papers and other totally useless but expensive features for home. Did I mention A3+ is impressive and how nice it looks ? People get definitely impressed by it. The colors were bit woodoo to setup in photoshop for me but once done, I love the results. Don't forget to buy cheap paper from eBay as well, you will save a lot of money there.

John Dollus
you should look at the total cost of ownership. Many printer manufacturers price the printers low but raise the prices of the ink so it ends up costing much more over a 12 month period. Skimping on paper and ink quality by finding off brands is a good way to get lousy prints.

Skimping on paper and ink quality by finding off brands is a good way to get lousy prints. This is just general knowledge for ink printers. This series of Canon printers use the same cartridges even if you get much higher model. This is extremely popular model for hobby photographers, the price even for prints is pretty good. I use off-brand inks which cost around 65perc. of the Canon ones with pretty much identical colors (they're actually even manufactured by Canon for local vendors as special deal). Photographic A3+ paper can cost anywhere from 30cents per single piece up to to 10 euros per piece, but you don't need barique textured paper for regular prints unless you plan to hold out a gallery exhibition with high-end BW photography. This printer is relatively cheap, but it's not that cheap like those sold at wallmart. Check the reviews though anyway, you will find mostly very positive ones.
