selos69
Hi Guys, Everytime I open a 2011 max file in 2014, it (without fail) crashes within 5 minutes. Always when I'm doing something, i.e. moving an object, applying a material etc. I've installed SP3 for 2014 and I'm still having the issue. Using Vray too. Has anyone encountered anything similar / know how to resolve it? Cheers. Chris
notamondayfan
Have you tried opening Max 2014 and merging in the files you're having problems with? Also what sort of crash is it? Do you get the option to save the file and fill in a report form, or does it just go straight to the desktop? Perhaps upload a file here and see if us 2014 users have the same problem. Scott Schroeder
A long time ago, we ran into an issue going from one version on Max to a new one, I think it was 8 to 9, but if there was a live loft in the scene it caused the file to become unstable. The reason was that they had reworked some code around so certain operators became unstable. I would try merging in chunks of the 2011 file and watch how Max responds. Jose Negrete
I would try merging in chunks of the 2011 file and watch how Max responds. Or collapse modifier stacks to test an import.
