Vray materials don't change after adjusted with sketchup

hi all, wondering if anyone knows why the vray material editor would NOT respect changes made to materials in the sketchup material editor? my understanding is that if i adjust a material's colour or size with the sketchup material that the vray material should be updated accordingly. but perhaps i'm mistaken. any help is much appreciated.

Nope. It doesn't do this all the time. The best method is to edit the texture in your image editor through the materials editor in SketchUp.

ahhh well i am surprised that vray doesn't follow sketchup material edits. its a drag to have to edit every texture in an image editor. but i sure am glad i know that i'm not doing something wrong. thanks so much for the info/reply!
