Jeff Mottle
Thought I'd point this out to everyone as Google has just released the beta version of their Google Desktop search utility. I installed it this weekend and it has indexed almost 20,000 emails and files on my workstation and is able to find email about 300 times faster than the email search in Outlook. Definetly worth a try: http://desktop.google.com/
Ernest Burden III
Don't you use one of those 'asset management' programs? In which case, I would think you wouldn't need anything else for profession-related files. Even so, searching your email database (especially YOURS) would be handy. I guess I'll give it a try....when I can find the time. (Bad joke intentional).
Jeff Mottle
Locally I have my folders all organized in such a way I don't need any professional software to organize it. Email is also organized, but my PST file is over 1GB so searching in Outlook takes forever. The Google search is lighting fast and once it does its inital indexing, everything that is added or deleted is automatically indexed on the fly. It does take up 10MB of RAM though which is kind of a drag, but what can you do.
