TomA
Is there a way of replacing frames rendered for an animation, without individually renaming them? For instance if you have a 1000 frame sequence and you want to update only frames 600-700, without changing the names of those frames and replacing them manually? I'm hoping there is a simple and obvious solution but so far I can't think of it. Thanks
John Dollus
move the ones you want replaced into a different folder (if you want to keep them for some reason) and resubmit the sequence with the 'skip existing images' option checked on in the render output section. -or- use the Frames area to define individual frames or ranges of frames and submit a new job Those are the quickest ways off the top of my head Edited November 25, 2013 by John Dollus
Krisztian Gulyas
I usually render the frames with the name "frame_" (how creative ) and max will create a sequence (frame_0001, frame_0002 etc.). When I need to rerender a few frames, i just set the range from (for example) 120-223 and max will replace just those with the same name, in the same folder (frame_0120, frame_0121... frame_0223). Chris MacDonald
I agree with Fooch, definitely do it in post. Much easier.
