neil poppleton
It has been a few years since we had anything 3d printed and we used a company on the west coast of USA which therefore incorporated shipping and import taxes to the UK. Has anybody used a UK company recently to 3d print, I would be grateful to hear any recommendations and hear anybody's experience. A rough idea of current costs experienced would be useful. Thanks. Sketchrender
I have been getting prices for 1:200 models white and colour. still €1000 for a a model the size of smaller than A5. A lot of fixing required if they are coming out of Max, they are brought into Zbrush and fixed and re textured. Just not there yet. Near but just not yet. My 2 cents. phil
neil poppleton
3d print UK quoted around £100 + vat for a hundred scale size of a 3d bed semi. Seem a good set up and useful website.
notamondayfan
Hi Neil, Just wonder what your experiences are so far regarding 3D printing? I'm looking to experiment and see what the possibilities are, but would be great to hear how you're getting on. I have the sample pack from Shapeways, and it's very impressive, especially the stainless steel, but quite pricey too! Cheers, Dean
neil poppleton
Eyup Dean, Trust your well. I found 3D Print UK to be very helpful. Unfortunately I wanted to print a 3d house plan we recently modelled including all furniture within but due to scaling down it was'nt feasible and really need to review in the new year to see if we progress. Anything less than 100mm will not print.
petergrant
To cut the cost of shipping, I take advantage of 3d2print's Saver Pack deals. If you buy 4 spools from them, you will automatically get FREE economy shipping. For a UK resident like me, I receive my orders of ABS and PLA plastic filaments-- http://www.3d2print.net/shop/filament/pla-filament/ within 2-4 working days. Shipping varies; it will depend on your location.
