benjaminbogaert
Hi all, i'm trying to put a city skyline in my reflections from my windows. I tried adding it in the material, but I don't see how to set in the proper dimensions? I tried putting a uvw wrap around all my glass object. Nada. So how would one go about? Now i'm trying to add a plane with the image on it, but i'm pretty sure that's not the right way either. I'm using an HDRI but i keep getting these pesky reinfections in my glass, so I disabled the "affect reflections" in the vray light. I know I could do this in post-pro, but anyone know how I could force this in the glass material. Regards.
Corey Beaulieu
You are on the right path with the plane... I usually use a plane and then put the map into a light material ticking all three boxes (Multiply Opacity, Compensate Exposure, And the other one). Sometimes you need to adjust the level from 1.0 but often it is fine at 1.0. The alternative is to use a second HDRI un-ticking the Diffuse and likewise un-tiking the specular and reflection on the other.
benjaminbogaert
Aha, I see i'l try using a light material then. I tried a circle with an extrude but this interfered with my hdri material. Isn't there a certain GI setting i need to tick on or off? Thanks!
