Text with Bevels Plugin / Script ??

Hey there,

 

I was just wondering if there is a way to create an automated text of this style as attached , what I'm after is like a 2 level letter simply standard primary letter and then recessed beveled face with smooth and round edges..

I work for a signage design firm, and I do lots with copy / logo design / 3d reconstruction..

I modeled the attached "G" letter as a single polygonal object , but that took about half an hour of my time , I would have to spend a whole day modeling letters to assemble an average logo...

Is there perhaps a script out there that I could achieve a similar effect ???

This plug looks very good,

I am wondering about the mesh though , when I run a box modeling I have full control as how I want the mesh laid,

this works great for me when I have to output an object to a AXYZ router , with this plug I am not so sure,

but its cool enough especially for a quick presentation.\
