Contact Database Management

Hello all. I'm curious if anyone can give me some suggestions for a method of creating a contact database. I previously had a Microsoft Outlook contact database with over 1000 contacts in it. However, something happened, and the database got trashed, so we lost all the contacts. Also, it was a pain creating a database that could be accessed and edited by multiple people.

My next choice was Access. However, I'm having issues with Access at the moment, and can't seem to get it to quit crashing.

So, I thought I'd take this opportunity to ask around and see if anyone else has found a good all-in-one system for storing contacts, which can be used in conjunction with email mailers and marketing to new clients.

I'd love to have a live database stored out on my website, with a back-end form-page that I can drop addresses into occasionally from any location, having features on that backend page to delete contacts (for those who wish to no longer receive marketing messages), and whatever other nifty gadgets would be good for management of the database (such as storing the "no-email" requests so I don't accidentally add that person again and market to them again, leaving myself open to lawsuits). I'd also like to be able to call the email addresses from the contact list, as well as the person's name, and personalize the message for each client.

How do you all handle this sort of thing?

Thanks

Eric
