LaBelette
Hi, the file is: http://dropcanvas.com/075hl got a nurbs PolySurface imported and need to work on it in max. I need to edit the geometry by inserting openings at few places, extruding, etc..and then map it and render it. I think it is better for me to work with a mesh as there are many mesh tools in max and I start to get to know them (partly :-). I already tried many things and encountered many problems.. I would like to ask you how you would go along with that kind of file? for ex. I have to create a hole in it by projecting that circle and have to keep the nice smooth surface. any idea? thanks Edited December 13, 2013 by LaBelette
LaBelette
After few days of research, I made out a methodic but still not happy about it: 1) I convert it to a mesh, then weld the vertices + redo the SGs 2) still some bumps are left and right, so I relax or flatten the mesh and finally close the few holes which appeared by welding their vertices again. But still some bumps I cant flatten because they create these famous black spots on the mesh, I tried to turn the diagonal, to redo the SGs, etc.. but nothing worked so I finally let these few bumps in peace, the final result is not so bad but not so good also.. How would you guys do it?
