ananddevarajan
I downloaded a model from internet. When I took the model to 3DS Max the model is too big. I want to scale to 8 feet in length and 3 feet in with and 3 height. Please some one help me with that.
Chris MacDonald
As 3ds max doesn't have a 3 point scale (or 3 point rotate) the only reasonable way of doing it is to group your model (assuming it is more than one mesh) and scale it to fit in a box made to your dimensions. notamondayfan
Sometimes a model will be just in the incorrect measurements, ie inches instead of mm. In that case, with 3ds max open and set to the file scale you are working in, merge in the new model, and it will be the correct size. Stephen Thomas
One figure worth keeping in mind for metric/imperial mismatches is 39.37%, which is 1/25.4 (mm in 1 inch). I usually try this first before resorting to scaling by eye.
Tommy L
and before you go scaling all your objects.... You should parent the objects to a dummy and scale the dummy.
