Guest dialog
Our company is looking to build a list of the best companies and artists to send work to in the future. Just wondering who everyone thinks are the "go to" places or artists? I have a handful of larger companies and smaller boutiques and artists I really like...just wondering what everyone else thinks... our website is http://www.dialogdesign.ca just to get an idea of the type of projects we work on
harryhirsch
tricky...you would have to call that list ""Best artist/companies that we like" Is this ""list of the best" a business tool for your company or is this more public for the cg community? If there is a ranking then there should be criteria...and the decision for certain criteria is a judgement in itself. The criteria will influence the outcome very much. How to find objective criteria for something art-related? Company size? renderings per month? Media attention? And companies /artist that you do busines with want to be on that list as well. It is the same with prizes ad winners..why would he get a first and the other a third prices? Jurors never publish a criteria list or talk about criteria...Unless peopel know and understand the criteria it is all very subjective.
Guest dialog
I think we are looking for a wide range of skill sets, price ranges and turn around time. Could be from a single artist to a company of 100 people. Work can vary on the look as well. WE just want good options to outsource to when we need to have renders done that we cant do in house. SO many different styles, so maybe not the number 1 best person or place, but the people or companies who produce some great work would probably be a better explanation. J.C
My vote goes to www.idenby.co.uk, everyone can make photorealistic images with crazy amount of detail given enough time but very few produce work as unique as him. my dos centavos.
