I believe there are artists here who can help me out with his valuable feedback. This is the quality I am producing now a days. But I am wondering how can I take it to the next level. Its just not getting there. Whats wrong with the image? where to improve? composition?/lighting?/vegetation?/ color?/sky? I just dont know. Thanks a lot in advance for your advice and suggestions. aristocratic3d
HI, Nobody is there to help me out? I need to reach to the next level badly. Or may be the architecture itself is the problem?
jensandersen
Hi Abdullah, the architecture comes down to taste, but as you need some fresh eyes to give you some feedback to improve on, I would say the following: 1. The "carpet" of small stones/gravel looks strange in how it meets the four different kind of materials (grass, stone, wood and concrete). Maybe just bring the terrain up in the same height, have it all covered by grass (with small variation of weeds/moss here and there) and then just a simple path of the gravel you already have. 2. I think the greenish wooden facade and the white wooden elements lacks some "wooden" texture. They look too clean and smooth. Maybe paint with a very soft and low opacity "dirt" brush in photoshop on the white elements. Its way too clean. 3. The roofing tiles has (again its just me trying to challange your views) too much variation and is starting to look "tiled". And a little bit flat. I once saw a great "making-of" guide over at Ronen Bekerman's site: http://www.ronenbekerman.com/making-of-3d-saint-benedict-chapel/ scroll down to "THE WOODEN SHINGLES CLADDING" part and see if you can use that now this shot is so close up. 4. The window nearest the camera has some weird reflection. 5. Maybe you have cropped the image too close to the roof, I would play with that. Best of luck, I'm looking forward to see what you will end up with. Good job so far by the way! /Jens
ivanjay
I completely agree with Jens and when I looked at this I was impressed! Really looks good. My overall comment is the perfection... To make it look real some of those stones on the retaining wall should be "slightly" out of place to give it some dimension. And the roof is VERY flat. Shingles do not lay like that on a roof. So my overall comment would be just to remove some of the rendered perfection from it in terms of materials to make it a bit more real. I too dont understand the gravel, unless that is a desire I would place some steps of matching material or grade the entire walkway, again matching material. Looks like a slip creator to me. aristocratic3d
Hi, Thanks for your detail feedback friends. I am waiting for client's feedback (in case he wants any changes). Client had been happy with the renderings but I know I need some instruction from experienced people to go forward. And I have got what I want. The issue of shingle had in mind. I need to find some better solution. I followed that link given by Jen. nice tutorial/making of. I will take these into consideration and show you something soon. Freelancing on this field is being more competitive these days. I really need to boost the quality more. Thanks again for your feedback.
