P.R.S. Sivakumar .
Hello everybody This may seem to be a very trivial question. I simply wish to know what the international standard or ISO standard for dimensioning Architectural Metric drawings? Is it in Meters or in Millimeters? I was always under the impression that it was MM. But here in my country, the state govt. standard for submitting drawings for approval is in Meters. But when I receive some drawings from MNC corporates, or Machinery lay-out for a factory & the like, they are all in Millimeters. One MNC (for corporate identity - they have some standardized lay-outs) gave in Centimetres (it is an European company in my country). So I am a bit confused on what is the prevailing standard for dimensioning a Metric Architectural Drawing. Thanks in advance PRSS

Chris MacDonald
MM for architectural drawings in the uk, metres for site plans. Centimetres are never, ever used here.
P.R.S. Sivakumar .
That seems to be very highly logical. So the matter is settled for me. Only for the Govt. approval plans would I do in Metres. all my architectural drawings & interior drawings would be in mm and site Plans would be in Metres. (NO CENTIMETRES) Thank you for the reply.
