What is the standard for dimensioning Architectural Metric drawing M or MM

Hello everybody

This may seem to be a very trivial question. I simply wish to know what the international standard or ISO standard for dimensioning Architectural Metric drawings? Is it in Meters or in Millimeters? I was always under the impression that it was MM. But here in my country, the state govt. standard for submitting drawings for approval is in Meters.

But when I receive some drawings from MNC corporates, or Machinery lay-out for a factory & the like, they are all in Millimeters. One MNC (for corporate identity - they have some standardized lay-outs) gave in Centimetres (it is an European company in my country).

So I am a bit confused on what is the prevailing standard for dimensioning a Metric Architectural Drawing.

Thanks in advance
