Peter M. Gruhn
I knew this, but only just now really understood it... I'm sure you hate cleaning up 2d cad work to prep for 3d just as much as I do. Well, it does provide the chance to mull over the plan and start to understand it but still, if only architects would draw the little lines across the ends of their wall even when they shouldn't then my life would be so much happier. Presspull. Presspull doesn't care if a wall is a closed polyline, so long as it can ferret out an enclosed area it is willing to extrude it. I think you have to do each piece one at a time which would be a drag if you didn't have to go back and fix them all one at a time anyway. And you can snap the height to any nearby reference so it's pretty... snappy. So I recommend a mix. Do a first pass with flatten, overkill, join. I usually have to join a few times to be sure. Then create regions and extrude. Second pass pick up the leftovers with presspull.
