Kroke
I'm really new to Max, and I have questions about how to light an exterior scene in max. I posted an image before and it was pretty laughable when it came to the lighting department. So, are there any tips? What kinds of lighting do I even use? I am hoping to hear any pointers for a n00b lighting exterior architectural scenes. If anyone might have a beginner tut even they could point me to, that would be great! pipjor
I use Brazil, you could also download Rio for free.. 1."Skylight" turned on .6 light blue. -for GI 2. add 1 Brazil Directional Light(light orange) with shadows(Brazil Ray Traced-soft) turned on -for sun /shadows. 3. Turn on "indirect illumination" 2 bounces/25 view rate.
Jim Mann
Page 504-508 of the tutorials book (Max 6) is pretty concise and takes you through the basics of what you would need to know if using Radiosity for an exterior.
