Ismael
Put something outside your windows and adjust your exposure until they look like in the scene you want its lighting. Your interior will darken accordingly, just like a camera would. http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/2012/05/bright-window-views.html Edited January 10, 2014 by Ismael Add info
Ernest Burden III
Shooting with 100 ISO/ASA film at a 30th of a second in a dark room would result in a very dark result. If you are using a film standard, go for at least 400 ASA. What you get is more contrast--like your inspiration image. Vray has some setting in GI for contrast, so experiment and not just use the default. Then use Photoshop if you need more contrast. Treat the light as an actor in the scene. What is it doing? Is it focusing on a detail, or is it throwing attention around the room, teasing out detail from the dark. Light is active, dark is passive.
