Blue Screen Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi guys... I am having a lot of problems with my system for the last couple of months.. i am having

windows version: Windows 7 Service Pack 1, 6.1, build: 7601

Hardware: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., P8Z77-M

CPU: GenuineIntel Intel® Core™ i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz Intel586, level: 6

8 logical processors,

RAM: 17124790272 total

Frequently system crashes with blue screen.... i fount out from my crash dump that i am having a problem with this:

This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x75B80)

Bugcheck code: 0x4E (0x99, 0x122982, 0x0, 0x122782)

Error: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System

company: Microsoft Corporation

description: NT Kernel & System

Bug check description: This indicates that the page frame number (PFN) list is corrupted.

This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. This might be a case of memory corruption. More often memory corruption happens because of software errors in buggy drivers, not because of faulty RAM modules.

The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

So i searched in a lot of internet forums and found out that updating my bios this prblm will get resolved... So i updated my bios..as well as my windows... but still its crashing... i have lost some of my workflows because of this... can anyone help me out with this... I have no idea what to do...

What's your boot drive? (HDD or SSD model).

When do you get those blue screens?

Is it possibly when running 32bit apps that reach their 2~3.2GB memory ceiling? (regardless of you having a 64bit OS, 32bit apps are 32bit apps...)

e.g. rendering large resolutions with Vray for Sketchup is an easy way to go beyond this limit.

What do you mean by updating windows? The normal service updates or a re-install? I think the service updates will not fix this problem.

I think it could be a driver problem or a corrupted memory stick. You could try to reinstall the mainboard drivers and check your RAM for errors with memcheck http://www.memtest86.com/
