christophercrocco
Hi Ive modeled a renovation of one part of a building. I am now trying to add that model in place of the existing in the picture attached. The model is the part of the building where the roof is shorter and it has the "borders" sign. Ive tried camera matching and i cant seem to get it to work. Any other ideas and step by step directions? thank you Chris

Ismael
Me either but I have heard it said to have a more intuitive Camera match utility than Max. http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/autodesk-3d-studio-max/an-archiviz-workflow-overview-in-3ds-max-sketchup-and-digital-fusion/
Scott Schroeder
Max 2014 has a pretty good camera matching utility, though it doesn't appear you are using 2014. An image that simple should be easy to match. You need to make sure you are using nearly the same mm lens in Max as the original camera, you can usually find that in the metadata of the image. You can always fudge the rest into place in Photoshop if you can't get it exact.
christophercrocco
Im using 2011 as stated. The pic was taken with an iPhone 5. Could that be an issue? anyone have a good tutorial? Ive seen so many methods i just dont know what would work best for this scenario.
Ismael
I stand corrected, max 2014 matching seems pretty good. For older versions maybe try this: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/111-cameramatch It seems from the video to be essentially the same as the Sketchup and Max 2014, over and out.
