RyderSK
Just some really nice visuals that have been entertaining me for quite while. Just stumbled randomly upon, missed it last year. Actually, pretty good style. esp. this one with Rem Koolhaas by anonymous North Korean artist. It's not really different from OMA's style huh ? They should hire him on spot. heni30
Yeah - it has a nice naive quality compared to the usual slickness you normal see. Here's one of my all time favorites that Dali would definitely approve of: Edited January 23, 2014 by heni30
RyderSK
I am not sure who said that (Vyonyx ?) but they described how architectural vizualization needs to look for Chinese market (big development projects by western studios, OMA, BIG, F+P,etc..) and show incredibly positive, idealized world (not to say this isn't done to extent in western vizualization, with all the shiny happy people and glorious colors) so they put whole Manhattan skyline or Paris Eiffel tower into picture anytime. It's absurd but funky.

RyderSK
assumptions... check the work of our member Young Yang out: "http://www.cgarchitect.com/members/view/AICG" These are very typical renderings of the Chinese market None of them seems to be in China though, so I presume these were all done for western Market instead thus not opposing the idea. A member, I would say rather a salesman only on behalf of his studio, there were quite a few of those here. I don't think it's based upon assumption. I now remembered where it was described, it was CLOG magazine, the popular and well done issue on Architectural renderings. Anyway, here is part of that article: URBAN FANTASIES IN CHINA: ARCHITECTURAL VISUALIZATION [Credit: The blog is written and maintained by Adam N. heni30
Thanks for the link Juraj; it's really interesting. Especially when you see how these hi-end designs for the Olympics are falling into disrepair from not being used nor maintained. The West is doing the same thing also as far as fantasy goes but we are actually building it. It's called Las Vegas - complete with the Eiffel Tower that you mentioned before. It's interesting that the mid century propaganda focused so much on the worker and the military with modern architecture in the distance off to one side and industrial complexes off to the other side. Its seems like that hierarchy has been turned around with the modern city now in the limelight. Edited January 23, 2014 by heni30
