davidjohansson
Hi! When i render out my vray elements, they are often poor quality - even if my settings are quite high. Especially VrayReflections. Do i really need to set my DMC to about 0.001 and subdivs to 1-20? These settings usually do it, plus very high subdivs in my GI. Does anyone have any tips on how to get crisp quality VrayReflection/RawReflections without having to max these settings? If you need o know my standard settings, ask and i will post them. Thank you! Nic H
follow these thread and the methods they outline and you will be able to fine tune your sampler / quality and time to eliminate noise http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthread.php?72367-Grant-Warwick-Mastering-Vray-Material-Ideas-Needed http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthread.php?76373-V-Ray-Render-Optimization-an-in-depth-Guide-(call-for-Before-Afters)
NoodleLuff
If it's the elements that are noisy, you need to look at that parameter for the given material. For example, if you RawReflection is noisey, increase the reflections subdivs from the default 8 to a higher value
Stephen Thomas
Nothing more to add, except you can apply the same method whether using IM/LC or BF/LC. Target the noise at the source, don't leave it all to the image sampler.
