sedus69 Posted October 21, 2004 Share Posted October 21, 2004 Hi, I'm working on a new project, a small building near a small town. I have a probleme with detail, some crap appear into dark area. I use Vray, the illumination scene is composed with 1 Direct light 2X multiplier light yellow + environnement light blue 0.7 Multiplier. I can't succed to achieve a bright scene but not burn by the sun, all exterior wall textures are washed like pure white. I post 2 images first the direct render from Vray and the second after some ajustment in photoshop. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Crazy Homeless Guy Posted October 22, 2004 Share Posted October 22, 2004 the photoshop work definetly helps, but the bldg as a whole feels like a scale model that you are taking photos of. i think there is to much blur on the background trees. give them blur, but not so much that you eye feels drawn to them. the trees are to large in the background, which is adding to the scale issue, combined with the perspective angle. i like that you are paying attention to avoid parallax, but i don't like the height at which the rendering is shot. although you may have raised to this height so that you could see that there was a concrete fence with grass on the otherside around the bldg. your sun is to bright. either lower its intensity, or increase the intensity of the sun hitting the trees. i don't mind the overbright sun, but you just need to balance between your composit image, and your rendering. i think you have a light with a blue/purple cast for the shadow side of the building, which is great, but i think it needs to be moved back towards white some (and maybe intensity increase the intensity a slight bit, although i am not sure about this one) also, i have never thought shooting a building at a perfect 45 degree angle is flattering to the building. i like to shoot at an angle, a little more towards one side or the other. actually now that i look at the images side by side, i like the color andcontrast of the building in the straight renderign better. the shadow side is the proper color, and it desn't feel as forced. but of course i like the window in the second image better. the windows in the first bldg have kind of an abandoned feel to them. anyway, the grass in the photo comp is awesome.
