duncanbarron
Hi all, I am relatively new to Vray and am hoping to improve on these internal renders. They appear quite grainy and quite dark. I am using vray dome light with .exr hdri map and a vray sun. I have also used vray plane lights positioned at the ceilings to lighten them. I have been playing around with the sun intensity and dome light multiplier, as well as camera settings. Yet they still seem to have this darkish grainy feel. Any tips or ideas for general improvement? Cheers
Corey Beaulieu
Your question amounts to "how do I use Vray?" in a sense. If there is is one aspect you want to delve into specifically perhaps post images of those settings and we can help from there, but you have only posted the render and are asking about lights, settings, and generally vray. Since your camera is not straightened and your intensities are not effecting much, I would start with a look at the camera. Hit the Guess Vert. button and then see if you have left Vignett on. this should be off. After that, put your sun and sky back on their default intensities (1.0 and 1.0) and make sue re that the dome light is at 1.0 as well (the map and dome light have separate controls). then try changing the F and the Shutter and ISO. After that we can address the noise.
Scott Schroeder
You are also missing any and all interior light fixtures. Our brains know that is impossible so it throws of any sense of reality of your render. Start with a gray override, get your lighting dialed in.
