hoseinasadi
ive tried 3 different methods in order to get reflections from a HDRI map on an object , none of them worked for indoor, however they work perfectly for outdoor. i created a box (like a room ) and placed my object in it , added a HDRI into vray reflections slot , hit render and no reflection from HDRI map , as soon as i remove the box , BOOM! there's reflections from HDRI map. how can i use a HDRI for reflection for indoor renders? P.S : put HDRI in material's environment slot , same problem.

Ismael
Add the 2 images. Create a billboard and put the reflection map in it. Fake one way or fake another way, it is still a fake. Apparently the Env Slot do not work for interior.
neil poppleton
Would the natural sky be reflected inside an object inside a closed box on your desk.
Scott Schroeder
The box blocks your HDRI, as it should. When the teapot in inside the box, it reflects the box. I can tell you with great certainty that as I sit here in the office, the sky outside is not reflecting off my high-gloss coffee mug. Though if I saunter over to the window, hey look at that, sky reflections.
hoseinasadi
thanks for the tips guyz, found a way tho. in the object properties of the box , uncheck "visible to reflections/refractions"

I guess I should have lead with, what exactly are you trying to achieve?

Nic H
it's almost as if the box was blocking the reflections....if you were to remove the box there will be reflections

andstef
Maybe the intention was not to obtain a photoreal image, in wich case I congratulate M.H. Asadi for the solution to this problem. If they fit the purpose, not all renders need to be photoreal.
RyderSK
Maybe the intention was not to obtain a photoreal image, in wich case I congratulate M.H. Asadi for the solution to this problem. If they fit the purpose, not all renders need to be photoreal. If you re-read his first post, you will absolutely clearly without any other possible intention see that it wasn't the case. I understand your kind knightly intention to defend this poor soul but really, you just made this up. His writting is absolutely clear, there is nothing other to decipher.
