AE - Brush stroke effect

Hi,

 

I am working on a comp in after effects where I am aiming to imitate the look of a paint brush as it strokes across a page, to reveal an image. Suggesting that the image has just been painted or sketched by these strokes.

 

Does anyone have any ideas or references that they have seen that would help me to create this? The effect needs to last for just a couple of seconds.

Create a Mask using pen tool on a stroke you want your image to reveal. Add " stroke" effect on the layer, turn on " all Mask" and "stroke sequentially" on effects property. On "paint style" use " reveal original image" .Play around / animate " end" or " start". You may want to play around with brush size and etc. Also you may add " roughen edges" effect after.

 

Sorry, thats just my simpliest way to explain it.Im not an expert either. You may wanna check videocopilot website. They sure have a tuts for this. Hope it helps. Goodluck!
