mikk36
just met a new problem ... so here it goes: the move i try to do is described in the last paragraph on this the problem is that when I press down Shift and press left mouse button one of the Gizmo's, it deselects any edges that I had turned red... it used to work, but won't any more... restarting does not help... and don't want to throw away my project either... opus13
the first thing that comes to mind: are you try to shift+drag edges that are shared by two polys? (in other words, is this an outside edge, or an interior edge?). editable poly is different than editable mesh (in many ways, but...) in that it does not allow an edge to have more than 2 faces attached. this prevents invalid meshs from occuring (the famous editable mess ). make sure that you are not trying to drag out interior edges. mikk36
well, basicly it doesn't work with any edge... i know about that inner edge stuff...
opus13
strange. have you tried deleting the '3dsmax.ini' file from you root directory? it holds all of your settings and application state. when you restart max it will recreate the file with default values set. in case there is a incorrect setting in your installation this could help. also try merging your file in to a blank scene, and well as try exporting teh model as a 3ds file, and tehn re-importing it as well.
