Boris Horosavin
Hi guys, I was just testing Vray 3 for Max 2014 and I noticed a warning about the "bitmap pager" being enabled. Supposedly, it could slow down rendering process. Is this something I should take in consideration? Should I turn it off? Also, as a side question: while rendering an interior scene I've noticed that compiling geometry phase lasted too long (got stuck for a minute or two on a single object). Has anyone else experienced something similar? Thanks.
RyderSK
You should absolutely turn it OFF. It's rather drastic performance decrease. It's in asset management
Scott Schroeder
Yep, turn it off. http://jokermartini.com/2013/11/14/render-speed-increase/

RyderSK
I am pretty sure it's been off either always or for long amount of time. I've heard a scene can turn it on, which would explain why some people have it accidentaly turned on.
Guest dialog
Where in asset management is this found?
Zdravko Barisic
^ Found something here http://area.autodesk.com/blogs/maxstation/n74_using_the_bitmap_pager The value doesn't take effect until the scene is reloaded, so follow these steps: run the following command in the MAXscript listener: IBitmapPager.enabled = false save the file and open it again.
