Devin Johnston
It reminds me of a light house, if you went with that theme you could do some pretty cool stuff!
Guest dialog
Black Window Frames with Some nice cedar stained shutters. White hardi-board on the lower blue area and solid white on the top area.
John Dollus
http://www.houzz.com/lighthouse-exterior Unless you are planning on using the property as a vacation rental, I'd suggest staying away from novelty architecture. RyderSK
http://www.houzz.com/lighthouse-exterior When I saw the original house I thought it would be the ugliest trash house I've seen the whole day. I was wrong. On serious note, I am buffled this gets responses..

Guest tennillebethel
ha ha. Im actually in the bahamas.. so that transport might prove to be difficult.(it looked like a tea kettle / space shuttle to me). the house is in a nice area for a good price. Im looking to modernize or spanish theme without spending too much cash on the exterior..also with the third story there is an ocean view. Im hoping some international themes and ideas - will be suggested, as opposed to the local concepts here at home. im not so much into lighthouses... as the area the house is located is one where million dollar homes are located. Im just a pauper that knows the person selling this house at a deal. The seller has been building this home for about 8 years now..never completed. this house sticks out like a sore thumb . heni30
If that's the case I would open up half the top floor on the ocean side into a veranda. Would boost re-sale value. Can we come and visit? Edited March 4, 2014 by heni30
Guest tennillebethel
I actually love the idea of the half open veranda. would not have thought of that. thanks sure you can come visit.. bring the food /drinks, and patio chairs etc
harryhirsch
''can anyone post or give an idea on what to do with this fixer upper im about to buy'' Guess uwont invest moeny to invite offices for a real competition, hmm..i would contact a Professor of the nearest Archietcture school and ask them to initiate a competition for students..give them some prizes like books and they winner get bragging rights for his first real project. '' Im looking to modernize or spanish theme without spending too much cash on the exterior'' I heard that a lot from our clients...and comeptitions also just cost money...and people wonder why architects have no money to hire arch viz people
Chris MacDonald
Sure, I'll design and detail it, and provide visuals too if you want. For a fee.
