brunochampagne
Good morning, first post, long time lurker. Still, couldn't find what I was looking for. I have a scene to split in different render layers - a kitchen in background separated by a two walls in foreground. My scene needs to be separated this way : the ground splitted on layer1, the background / kitchen on Layer2 with the rest of the scene in matte, and the foreground walls on layer 3 with the rest of the scene in matte. I need these 3 objects separated for a quick animation in AFX, so puzzlemattes aren't the best option. I usually render flat when I use 3ds max + V-ray for my freelance projects and stills, but as it goes, I didn't find anything that could work with my setup. I can't use the vray wirecolors for such a setup. The closest I got was ' maxrenderlayer ' script ( doesn't seem to work as intended with v-ray ) and my other tought was to simply have 3 scenes and render 3 times, but I find it counterproductive. Any toughts or workflow you might want to share? I fiddled around with the slate manager but couldn't figure it out the way I need it to be working. Thanks.
