andersjohannesson Posted March 7, 2014 Share Posted March 7, 2014 Im trying to create a velvet material in v-ray for maya and need help. I now have it set up with a sampler info node with facing ratio connected to a ramp. The ramp then has two textures applied, one dark and one light. This ramp then connects to the color of the Vraymtrl. So far everything works fine and i get a nice rim effect. But then i add a bump map to the material and thats when it goes wrong. I get the bump but the nice rim effect dissapears and the whole surface gets almost as light as the rim should be. How can i get around this? andersjohannesson Posted March 7, 2014 Author Share Posted March 7, 2014 It doesnt seem to matter if i turn down the bump multiplier either. Its like the entire surface get only the light version of the texture, as soon as i plug a bump into the material. I Will post a capture of the issue in monday when i get back home.
