antwoinegilbert
Hello I am having a problem with my 3ds max scene and was wondering if anyone could lend a hand. I have modeled a scene in revit and imported it into max. The storefront windows have a revit material on them and it renders fine. But when I set the window panes to a vray glass material bright light comes out from the windows and destroys my scene.
Ismael
Your windows and your building may be sharing inside a multisub material. When you set the vray material, the rest of the building goes to its default color.
antwoinegilbert
Thanks for the reply, but what do you mean by them sharing a muiltisub material? Was that set somehow in revit?
jasonstewart
It depends on how your Revit file is setup and how you imported/linked it. What option did you select when you linked/imported? Did you combine everything into one object? If you make a new max file and import/link you revit scene the same way and then use the eye dropper tool in the material editor to select part of the building it will show you if it is indeed a multisubobject material and how many materials it has. I am not sure if that is your problem though, try applying a stock vray material in the material override in the render setup>vray tab>global switches and see how that renders. antwoinegilbert
I fixed the problem a while ago I just should have said something. It was that the entire building needed to be set up with vray materials in order for it to render correctly.
