djoshi
Hi, I am rendering a glass placed on black surface, if I am rendering still it comes ok but when i put it on FG + GI precalculation & then render it comes with circular splotches. My settings are : 3ds Max 2013 FG : Preset : Medium Divide camera path with num. segment :16 Bounce : 0 GI : Max Num. Photons per sample : 1000 AA: 1-16 Mitchell Material of glass : Arch & design Reflection : 1.0 Refraction 1.0 Light : Photometric free Disc light Image attached Please help.. Thanks in advance.. djoshi
Ok, have noticed one more thing when I turn refraction(Transparency) to 0.99 it removes this problem. But I loose the perfect clear glass effect..can anyone understand where is the problem??
marius e
Why GI?? Not useful in that rendering, its not an 'indoor' environment. Glass refraction value isnt '1', so it will render as you have it.
djoshi
Thanks..yes I have switched off GI & splotches gone. Sorry.. refraction meaning the value of transparency I gave 1.0 & not IOR.
