TomD_Arch
I have been noticing for a long time now a lot of the top end visualization houses are producing work that utilizes one form or another of mist, rain or fog it's scene. I like the mood it creates in them and it seems fitting for most, but I am wondering...are these scenes being developed that way on purpose? I can see the benefit in not having to render out a nice blue sky and reflected/bounced sun ray light in the scene. Discuss-
RyderSK
I would say that they absolutely are, you don't end up with foggy scene by some sort of accident :- ). And reason is simply visual, it's not easier to setup or render such mood, quite oppositely I would say. But I am not gonna say it's somehow better or more original than "happy blue sky", it can be appropriate, it might be not as well, and needs to be done well otherwise can feel wrong or badly done likewise. Nicolai Bongard
Fog is sometimes a neat way to show off the shape of a building, and it also happens to be a great way to avoid having to model the whole neighbourhood around a building!
