cellular wood material

im working on a wood material using cellular map. ive succeededin getting it to work with the grain going vertically by setting the vertical tile to .001, but i cant seem to get it to work going horizontally. for some reason setting the x and/or y tile to .001 doesnt have the same effect. i have exported the material if anyone wants to look at it to help me out.

i think ive developed a pretty good procedural, take a look and tell me what you think. its still a bit flat, but i think a shelak(sp?) material may help. its just this minor problem of orientation, thats throwing me off right now.
