TomD_Arch
So I just installed 3dsmax on 4 machines at work, opened an old project that was done on a single machine and took forever to render to use as an example of how fast DBR can be. Worked great! So we start a new scene. I set-up a few basic materials starting with the Arch&Design type and start to render a massing site model for a new project. I am surprised to see the image return with maybe about half the buckets out of Gamma. There are no maps, no complicated materials. Clearly this is not a network or hardware issue. One thing None of the computers had any service packs for 2014 installed. Is this a known issue with the DBR? Am I going to find it solved this morning after the IT department installed SP5 last night?
Scott Dombrowski
Yes, it was a bug in 2014. One of the service packs fixed it. I forget which one. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-Max-3ds-Max-Design-General/3ds-Max-2014-Design-Distributet-Bucket-Rendering-mental-ray-DBR/td-p/4288789
chrisfrank
Hello, Scott. Im new in the website so if I'm doing it the wrong way, sorry in advance. I read your post from May 17th 2010 about the Daylight Analysis. This is my first time sending documentation for LEED IEQ 8.1. I'm kind of done with the simulation but I totally dont know how to submit the information. How do I get the areas from the grid? Say I have to parallel points one under 10 fc, and another above the 10 fc. Where should I start the measurement of my compliant area? Could it be in the middle of both? What has been your experience? Are the spreadsheets from 3DS Max any helpful for it? I'm sorry again... I'm totally lost there and its frustrating. I have the results but there is nothing about the interpretation of them.
