chrisparrott
Hi guys. I have a problem in that I cannot work out how to make the attached shape (see rough image!) in max! Any ideas? Thanks!
Ismael
Maybe 2 bend modifiers. First on a paper plane with 1 poly only to fold sharp in half. Increase the subdivisions of the paper object a lot and apply a second bend modifier making use of the 'limits' and the orientation of the bend modifier gizmo. I think this will work (based on all my experience with this modifier in all of last night that I worked with it!). Maybe someone else correct me or describe a correct or better way. benjaminbogaert
You can do some pretty amazing stuff with a simple symmetry modifier, I'l try it myself see if it works. It didn't work with the modifier, sorry. Maybe spline with loft modifier? Just spit balling here. Edited March 28, 2014 by benjaminbogaert
John Dollus
plane with Path deform using a spline for the fold. That's how I would do it
Jose Negrete
2 bend modifiers did the trick. As suggested by Ismael
chrisparrott
Hi Jose, that looks like what I'm after, but I can't work out how you did it. Can you elaborate? Thanks!
beestee
Yes, multiple bend modifiers works great for folding paper in Max:
