Keen098
Hey guys, I'm wondering if there is any good way to dublicate ares within a mesh, for example i have this "windows" created by the connect tool within my object, is there any way to dublicate this created area within my mesh and paste it on other points within the same object? I'm asking cause i need this "windows" like at least 20 x within the same object.
Zdravko Barisic
Deattach desired part as a object/element and then put on proper place? Select the elements you want, and on right tab on edit poly commands, find DEATTACH...
Keen098
thanx for help.. I tried to make a copy of this area, than i move my "windows" and attached them back to the main mesh. It works ok but the main problem are now the overlapping parts.... Edited March 30, 2014 by Keen098
Zdravko Barisic
^ Go for POLYGON mode, not ELEMENT, when do this, if you go for element mode, you'll get whole part. When go into edit poly tab, press 4 on keyboard or click on 4th red symbol, from the left.

Zdravko Barisic
Hm, then why do you have overlaping faces? Old object?
Keen098
I have a base object, lets say a house. Than i have created by "connecting" "edge" a window which i like to extrude later. Instead of creating the windows all the time by "connecting" eges... i would like to copy the existing window which is so far not extrude and paste it all ober the house. by clicking the polygons and creating a new object, i got my windows yes. but when i paste them on my exisitng house, there is of course the old mesh behinf my new object and thats the problem... Zdravko Barisic
Better start from scratch, its cleaner and safer, make base object, and some guidelines/axes, and place them all around the house... Maybe even faster?
Keen098
thats what i like to do but i have still the problem when pasting my windows on the main mesh i get overlapping faces...
Zdravko Barisic
...because of house mesh? Delete the poligon behind, probably you should cut the house for windows?
Stephen Thomas
Just delete the original poly and then bridge between the edges to fill the gaps between window sections.
