anthonyh
Newbie here, just thought I'd pop along and say hello to everyone. Its been great reading through posts etc for the last few weeks, very informative and entertaining. Im based in London and I've worked for various architectural practices since leaving uni (I studied architecture) two years ago, and usually ended up being the render and graphics guy - only without the proper tools! Im really passionate about architecture and really enjoy the small crafted details combined with a photographic approach - so these things have naturally turned into a bit of a labour love for me. Anyway, recently I decided to get my act together - if this is what I do then I want to do it as good as I possibly can, so last month I invested in 3ds max and Vray to learn in hope of picking up a few bits of work to see where it leads. So here's my first render (its only a quicky - half a day!), Its for a small house/gallery in London. I'd really appreciate any comment, critique advice etc. Thanks everyone. How are you lighting the space? There is noise in the light calculation on the ceiling...
anthonyh
Hi Ismael - as you say, I actually rendered this and then realised that I needed a few lights! Thanks for the link. With regards to the noise, this is a problem I keep coming up against. I have tried using a dome light, which sometimes sorts this out...?
Ismael
Check this blog out about 'noise': http://forums.cgarchitect.com/75838-why-does-noise-increase-so-much-when-vraymtl-refl-glossiness-turned-down-2.html#post388648 "Turn off GI and render, inspect the Lighting render element. Noise in direct lit areas? Increase light subdivisions. Is noise gone in directly lit areas? No? Inspect Reflection and SampleRate. Increase material samples for noise broad areas. Fix the noise contributions from the light first."
