Hi all,

 

How many of you have tried to render a max6 scene in max7? Did it work well??

 

I was very surprised to see that my rendered scenes turned out completely different: really ugly, with black and white blobs and very strong color bleeding...

All settings that I've been working on very hard lately (max6 - FG) cannot be used in max7... Does anyones knows how to 'convert' max6 settings smoothly to the max7-renderer (MR)? Any tips?

I'm especially interested in your own findings, problems and solutions using FG.

My MAX6 scenes work fine when rendered in MAX7 (I'm using demo)

some scenes though which didnt have the GI Maximum Radius set took longer to render than it was in max6. But putting the good old skydome trick worked well.

But then again, it might be just a per file incedence.

 

Some slightly overbright scenes when rendered were just adjusted through the exposure controls.

 

I'll keep you posted should I find some Ills and pains in max7

 

I like the camera map per pixel, 1st person camera and texture bake though.

Hey, don't look now, but I'm typing my way towards your post count.

loooool!!! Yup found GI a while ago, but not good settings... Eventually found great settings for max6 that don't turn out great in max7... awful!

I haven't played too mucht with max7 yet... trying to solve the production problem... and finishing projects...
