I am just joking, I won't really know the big 3d artist Bertrnad Benoit what does as jobs, but I would like to share with all the community, a deep thought about working on this field. In october I will go to meet on a convention in Venice the big MIR's guys and I still do not understand if this job will get bigger in term of market expansion or will implode on itself. Here in Italy is quite tough due 2 points.1) Guys are open ten years ago their studios and filled the market,2) is hard for new studios due global downsizing to enter the market and also architectural market here is not so develloped.

To be a 3d architectural visualizier is today possibile? is that possible in full cg or just doing little crazy work for not so interested clients (except to give to their own clients something to eat fast and cheap?

*Benoit..

I would check Finance ministry of one the European's largest countries. But since he holds his privacy in good regard I think that's sufficient.

I only write it because people stretch it to mythic proportions.

Venice AD is awesome. Moreso this year. Plus Rem Koolhaas leading Biennalle, I don't know, but, looks like epic start October.

I would say market is great as well, no need for apocalyptic talks of future cheap labour.

Juray I have an italian issue of 3d artist with some of your work, great stuff man

are all commissioned works?

The one with bedroom ? It's personal work.

To answer the original question further, I don't think existing studios fill the whole market, which is broad and ever-changing. In the other thread you wrote Delta Tracing, which is quite good role-model imho. They pretty much only do kitchens...but they do it so well that they're created a niche just for themselves and seem to made a great bussiness around it. They have an article somewhere on nVidia's page about how they needed to re-invent themselves after crisis. And they did.

The sooner people stop copy-catting others, or believing they will be another MIR one day, and start to be creative about the market's diverse opportunities, the sooner they find they can actually made really good money with CGI and live happy non-stressful life.
