Nicolai Bongard
It seems like the metal parts of your lamp has disappeared. Check the material of the metal parts. If it is set to reflect the environment (and has an override), it might not work in your new scene where you maybe have no environment?

Chris MacDonald
The black bits around highlights are from having "force clamping" turned on.
Isley
i have turn off ''view clamped colors'' at vray frame buffer, is that what u mean ? but there are still some black edges around the light. may be its because of the metal material is missing,, because i cant find the map. btw, thanks chris.. it helped a lot. Chris MacDonald
i have turn off ''view clamped colors'' at vray frame buffer, is that what u mean ? Nope. In the VRay settings, under Colour Mapping. Make sure "Clamp output" isn't checked.

Chris MacDonald
Hmmm, let me have a think about it then. I'm sure I've had this problem before and managed to sort it out.
Chris MacDonald
Are you using a sharpening filter such as mitchell-netrevali? Having just done some tests, this is what was causing the problem and switching to an area filter fixed it. I've never liked sharpening filters anyway. Makes your eyes want to bleed.
