charlieinolas
Guys, I'm having a problem with this strange, black grain all over my scene. I've done lots of renders in vray 3.0, settings here are standard (noise 0.01, irradiance + light cache), so there must be sthg that causes it (not vray settings). Do You have any idea what that is? salvador
I think the lamp intensity is causing the black dots. Try a blurry AA filter like Area and / or turn on Sub-pixel Mapping and Color Clamping. Hope it helps.
charlieinolas
yep, this happens because of lights..thanks Salvador. Bulbs have vraylight material on them, and if I switch it off, grain is gone. But when I want to create a sphere light (omni) and I put it inside the lamp instead of the bulb, the same thing happens. And they're not strong (2,5 multiplier). I tried to remove the surrounding glass but still no luck, black dots are everywhere... There's sthg strange here. salvador
Try the tweaks I suggested. I've got rid of stuff like that this way.
charlieinolas
Thanks Salvador, that worked. However I've used vray for very long, and never got such black dots using fixed sampler set to 1 (I use this one for previews). Anyway thanks, cause these dots are gone after changing to Adaptive. p.s. What's strange - I just transfered this scene back to max 2012 and vray 2.4 (now have 2014 and vray 3) and the dots are gone using same settings...that means that there is a bug in vray 3.03 and that would confirm my suprise in this matter. salvador
Ahhh ! that. Yes, I've seen strange things happen when opening an older version in a newer one. Glad it helped.
