davidjohansson
Hi, let me try to explain this problem.. So, Iv'e imported a dwg to 3ds max. I've got a plan-drawing, on that plan are 4 trees. When i try to move one tree the other ones follow it. But in different directions, and they are separate objects. And when i move the whole plan with everything on it some trees moves faster and again in different directions. (the trees are separate object so they have to have some kind of connection with each other) Has anyone any idea on how to fix this or work around it? Thank you. Scott Dombrowski
I run into this all the time. They're blocks and they're a pain. Sometimes they unlink without any problems, sometimes when you unlink, they scatter everywhere. I think there's a DWG cleaning script on scriptspot, but you can also explode them in AutoCAD before importing.
Guest calumreid
Yeah what scott said, take them into Autocad and explode them (multiple times if required) so they are just lines. (overkilling and purging the file wouldn't hurt either). Also double check you aren't just working on the 'local' axis in max when moving them... each one may have completely different axis directions. Guest dialog
Switch to world and problem should be solved Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jorgezamudio
Yup, pretty much as Desmond said, you probably have selected local on the main toolbar, so, each element moves on its local axis system, play with the different options, but probably world or view will work Or just make a group for all the trees an that should do it.
