I just can not see any connection beetween these two operation? And, yes, it is not coincidence, it happens every time, its just gremlins... Whats goin on? Does somebody know? himanshuchoudhary
I guess its the feature in max, when it tries to make a backup just before rendering, so that any error/crash during rendering if any, does not damage the file.
Zdravko Barisic
Good for files size till 200-300MB, but when it reaches till 1GB, and lot of test renderings....becomes frustrating! BUT, I've never seen this before, I'm not shore it is its feature? Its max 2012... Anyway thanks for helping!
himanshuchoudhary
I use vray with max2012, and it has always done this.. And yes, gets really annoying sometimes, specially when you are just doing tests.. Sometimes it works if you disable the autosave feature in max, it does not make a backup even whilre rendering.... you could give it a shot.. RyderSK
It doesn't do it by default. Are you sure you're not using distributed rendering ? The saved copy is used by Nodes.

notamondayfan
A work-around is to use xref scenes, where the geometry is held in another Max file, so when you save the file, it only saves the small file, not the geometry file. Dean
